Should I Cash Out My Frequent Flyer Points Now?
If you're unable to travel at the moment, you may be wondering whether to cash out your frequent flyer points for gift cards or products.

You're not alone. Many once-frequent travellers are now left with a stack of frequent flyer points that they can't immediately use for travel. But is it really a good idea to burn your points now on non-flight redemptions?

Revised AFF Posting Guidelines
Over the last 21 years, AFF has become a friendly, vibrant and diverse community for those who love to travel. Unfortunately, a small number of members have been flaunting our guidelines by posting disrespectful and unconstructive comments.

We have therefore updated our Terms of Service and have implemented some new guidelines to ensure our online community remains a welcoming place. In particular, please note that political posts will no longer be permitted on AFF.

Please see the full announcement for more details about the new guidelines.
Featured AFF Member Trip Report
COVID19 Cruising through Northern England
Trip report by Reggie | So after 14 years on AFF, I thought it was time to write my first trip report. Tomorrow (7/8/2020), we (the wife and son) pick up our new canal boat. We hired a canal boat back in October 2018, and cruised the Bridgewater Canal for four days and really enjoyed. We have been walking the canal towpaths near us during lockdown and decided that as it was likely that our 3 week cruise to Iceland and Greenland was going to be cancelled, we should organise our own cruise. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week we interviewed AFF member Steady from Tasmania. Steady joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2013 and has so far made 7,951 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: My last trip that included a flight was a few days to Adelaide to attend a Rockford Stonewall lunch, where I was able to catch up with half a dozen friends I have met through AFF. The one before that was a 5 week suites trip with Mrs Steady to Beijing, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Delhi - it is a great memory and only happened because of what I learned on AFF.

Q: Where will you go when the current travel bans are lifted?
A: I have KrisFlyer miles to burn on a trip to somewhere in Europe. I was going to take my youngest next year prior to her starting uni, but that has been postponed.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: Singapore Airlines. I generally only fly Qantas domestically as they fly out of Devonport - Singapore Airlines Suites vs a Qantas Dash 8 isn’t really a fair competition ;)
That said I made Qantas Lifetime Gold just as my work travel stopped so the majority of my future flights will be flying Qantas/oneworld.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Get along to an offline meet up. Meeting members adds another dimension to AFF. Written text can be interpreted many ways without the assistance of facial expression or verbal tone; meeting other members changes them from faceless keyboard warriors to people. It is also a great way to learn the extra special tips members don't want to publicly post.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: My favourite forum on AFF is now Wine, Food & Shopping Rewards. I like food and wine, I love a bargain and like seeing things members are cooking and drinking.

Q: Bonus wine-lover question: Do you have a favourite wine?
A: Not "a" favourite, but lots and lots of favourites! Thankfully wine isn't like a wife/life partner where just one is best. My 5 favourite wineries though are Rockford, Blue Poles, Standish, Sami Odi and Apogee.
