AFF Community Round-Up
Changes to the AFF forum layout
You may have noticed that the Australian Frequent Flyer forum now looks a bit different!

Last week, we added some now forums and categories. The restructure to the community forums was implemented to help highlight topics that have long been discussed on AFF, but not had dedicated forums (such as "Aviation Enthusiast Discussion").

On the forum home page, you also now have the option to "open" and close" categories using the toggle switch on the right hand side of each forum category box. If you're a logged-in AFF member, your preferences will be saved.

The new categories are Coronavirus & Travel; Ground Transport, Cruising & Rail and Travel Technology & Gear. We have also renamed the old AFF Wine Lovers Discussion to Wine, Food & Shopping Rewards, and the old Playground/Off Topic Discussion category is now called Lifestyle. Posts in the new Lifestyle forum will count towards your AFF post count! :)
New AFF forums
Here is a list of the new forums on AFF:
Meanwhile, we have removed the old "Current Credit Card Promotions" forum. Threads about credit card bonus offers & promotions will now belong in the relevant bank's forum (e.g. the ANZ Bank forum for ANZ credit card offers). But you can still easily find current credit card offers by looking for threads with the "Card Promotions" prefix! (You can search for threads with this and other prefixes by clicking on "Promotions & Offers" in the top-right corner of the forum home page.)

We trust you'll find the new website easy to navigate and that the new structure will serve our community better in 2020! read more...

Hotel Chadstone Melbourne - MGallery by Sofitel
Hotel review by rbjhan | First time staying in a Melbourne hotel! I don't normally do staycations, but with the possibility of my Nov trip actually going ahead decreasing by the day, I am getting desperate... so much so that I decided to do this (and a shopping tip to Chaddy of course). read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week, we interviewed AFF member flyingfan from Melbourne. flyingfan joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2010 and has so far made 1,010 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: My last trip was Melbourne-Adelaide-Darwin-Brisbane-Melbourne as restrictions were starting to take hold. A status run I didn't end up needing when Qantas extended our statuses!

Q: Where will you go when the current travel bans are lifted?
A: I'd like to explore more of Europe. I've only skimmed it so far and the various trip reports make me want to see much more.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: Singapore Airlines - I'm a big fan of their service and food.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Post and contribute - your experiences arm us with knowledge, and knowledge is power.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: My favourite thread is Qantas Platinum One Experiences. I'm hoping to read about more perks - sometimes Platinum One has been worse than as a vanilla Platinum, as I've posted, but I'm ever the optimist...
