Q: Most recent flight? |
A: Well, I'm writing this from the Qantas First Lounge on my way to Christchurch for a cheeky weekend status run (50% SC offer and J sale fare) but also just back from Europe. Flew SYD-AMS and LGW-SYD via HKG with Cathay Pacific. We were away when the riots took over Hong Kong International Airport! But all fine transiting through on the way home. Hadn't been on CX for a while. Very enjoyable.

Q: Favourite destination? |
A: London. One of those great world cities you never tire of. I've been there at least once a year for the last 20 odd years (work and pleasure). There is always something new to discover. Thinking about buying an apartment to overcome the accommodation costs! Meanwhile, AirBNB and hotel loyalty points are your friends.
|
Q: What's one thing you would never travel overseas without? |
A: It used to be explorer socks but with overheated aircraft cabins these days, it's now a T-shirt. On the ground, always a pair of walking shoes. The best way to discover a place is on foot.
|
Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member? |
A: If you're travelling for work a lot, sign up to any and all hotel programs that you use. Collecting those points for future holiday stays (and status) will be better in the long run than a couple of miles per stay. That breathtaking suite upgrade will impress your +1 more than a free toaster.
|
Q: Favourite thread on AFF? |
A: If I'm in a hurry, I usually go to the Qantas forum first to see what the other "rusted on" Qantas frequent flyers have to offer, then look at the Virgin Australia forum to see what my alter ego should be doing. When I have time, I do also enjoy The View from My Office - I'm a window shutter up person!
