It's all about the harbour - a long weekend in Sydney |
Trip report by bpeteb | Maggie one weekend, Sydney the next. Queensland had consecutive long weekends this year - Anzac Day then May Day. We'd decided on north for the first and south for the second. Flights booked with my Amex travel credit. I bagged a great price at the InterContinental, a hotel I'd stayed at years ago. read more... |

Q: Where did you go on your last trip? |
A: To Adelaide for the AFF dinner on 1 May. The return flight was a half price fare with double status credits but I also experienced double trouble over the same long weekend with a flight cancellation and a larger than real life shadow in the middle seat next to me before he was moved to an empty row after take off...

Q: Where will you go when the current travel restrictions are lifted? |
A: Singapore, Malaysia and London to visit family. Domestically, somehow I managed to dodge the travel restrictions so far and ended up flying to all state capitals + Canberra between December 2020 and February 2021. It's not Darwin in the evolution chain but O-range next in my range as my cousin has just moved there from Sydney (he's not the positive case traveller from January!)

Q: Favourite airline? |
A: I've been a Qantas frequent flyer since 1995 but still have a bias towards Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways and Virgin Australia (all of which have something in common).
|
Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member? |
A: Once you've read AFF, keep reading. I find that if I'm after particular info usually it's already buried somewhere on the airline websites or communications (and in fine print) but AFF provides the expert tips and tricks on the matter.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF? |
A: My favourite threads are the Lounge Meetups threads. When I'm posting there, it means I've booked flights somewhere (with a lounge). Sadly, those threads are still quite empty and bare (just like the lounges have been) since the start of the pandemic.
