Thundersnow! A ski trip during the 'rona
Trip report by offshore171 | This week I did something I wasn't expecting to do this year - a ski trip. We had a family holiday to Lapland booked for December 2020, but this of course is cancelled. I had written off any opportunity to hit the snow this year. But then NSW was able to get COVID daily cases down to single digits and the resorts managed to stay operating with some special adaptions for the pandemic. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week we interviewed AFF member Milboo from Sydney. Milboo joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2013 and has so far made 1,731 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: Mexico, as I had a work conference down on the Riveria Maya. I added on a few days holiday and went up to Holbox Island to swim with the whale sharks, which was on my bucket list.

Q: Where will you go when the current travel bans are lifted?
A: Two places - NZ to see my family firstly and then back to Mexico, with my friend who grew up there as my tour guide. Why? Tacos and margaritas!

Q: Favourite airline?
A: Etihad. I've never had a bad experience with them and love their J suites for the privacy. Inflight dining has always been outstanding, as has the service. The First lounge in Abu Dhabi is icing on the cake.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: In trying to maximise points, loyalty and status credits, don't lose sight of the fact that travel should be exciting and fun and that sometimes flying direct or at a lower cost on another airline outweighs all of that!

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: The Trip Reports as they're a bit like a modern Lonely Planet book. I enjoy seeing photos and picking up tips for my own planned travels. I had a folder of screenshots called 'travel ideas from AFF'.
