New Zealand - North South and the bit in between - 2014
Trip report by OZDUCK | As the Trip Reports forum is still, unsurprisingly, pretty quiet I thought that I would post another 'historic' TR. We booked a trip to NZ in October/November 2014 after Air New Zealand announced a sale. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week, we interviewed AFF member boomy from Brisbane. boomy joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2013 and has so far made 7,887 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: My last trip was an essential work-related return flight to Melbourne. Domestic travel during lockdown was a very different experience. From being the only person in the train, walking in an empty terminal with just one coffee shop open to practicing social distancing onboard and filling forms to justify the travel. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Q: Where will you go when the current travel bans are lifted?
A: Once the domestic travel ban is lifted, the first destination will be holiday in Cairns. We had one booked in June but forced to postpone once our flights were cancelled. Once the international travel ban is lifted the first destination will be Europe to visit my family, again a trip that was previously booked in April and cancelled.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: My favourite airline for domestic travel is Qantas. In 2008 my company switched from Virgin Blue to Qantas and since then I've been flying with them almost every week.
For international travel I have two equal favourites, Singapore and Japan Airlines. The service they provide is almost flawless in my experience.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: AFF can be overwhelming at first. Even for someone with the patience to read through different threads it's often hard to find specific information so my advice is don't be shy, ask anything that is not clear. Also, don't make your first post about a complaint. It may create a negative first impression.

Q: Favourite forum on AFF?
A: My favourite forum is Trip Reports and Trip Photos. More than once I got trip ideas from that forum, getting to visit places that I would otherwise not consider or overlook. Also it's nice to revisit familiar places from a different person's perspective.
