Featured AFF Member Trip Reports
Random J trip to Poland via South Africa
Trip report by Cessna 180 | It is time I wrote a trip report. As much as for my own benefit as well as others. I have learnt a lot and been both entertained and informed by many others on this forum. I am currently seated in the Bidvest lounge at JNB with Girlfriend (GF). I have been jotting things down on a word document over the last week since we left home. Below is the start of these ramblings and musings. read more...
"the trip to get to TLV turned to ..."
Trip report by Daver6 | Several hours before departure I'm notified of a 90 minute delay. The connection at LHR to TLV gives me 3 hours. So now we're down to MCT. I call QF to delay the chaffeaur drive pick up time and ask about this. Car pick up time is moved, but the operator tells me the car company isn't happy about the last minute change, like somehow this is me being picky. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week, we interviewed AFF member Bundy Bear from Brisbane. Bundy Bear joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2004 and has so far made 3,263 posts.

Q: Most recent flight?
A: Singapore to Brisbane on Emirates economy, returning from a trip to Singapore and Vietnam. Emirates was surprisingly good even being in the last row of economy.

Q: What's still on your bucket list?
A: South Africa, for the game parks and the wine, and parkrun. I've been reading a lot of trip reports on South Africa and seems like its interesting enough without being too dangerous. (craven morehead's recent trip report reminded me again why I wanted to visit South Africa.)

Q: What's one thing you would never travel overseas without?
A: iPhone with local sim card, charger and adapter.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Research your trip but then go with the flow as things don't always go to plan, and print out your important travel documents in case you need to reference them. Your phone might go flat at the wrong time and some countries and airlines still want to see your itinerary on paper.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: A classic from 2011 - The great SC chase. We have all joined AFF to get a good deal when flying. The more you fly, the better your status - and some routes are better than others for keeping status for the least amount of money. With social media, those great status runs of the past have been discontinued so the game is getting harder. But, like in this thread, there are a lot of good members on AFF who can give you some pointers as they have flown it and then written about it to help others. The more you read, the more you might understand.
