What Would You Tell Qantas CEO Alan Joyce?
If you had an opportunity to meet Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, what would you say to him?

This question was recently put to the Australian Frequent Flyer community. There have already been 100 responses (and counting), with frequent flyers expressing a wide range of different points of view about the way in which our national airline is being run.

Podcast #29: Buffalo Airways
Buffalo Airways is not your typical airline. Based in Yellowknife, Canada, Buffalo Airways operates an incredible variety of World War II-era aircraft including the Douglas DC3 and Lockheed Electra in some of the world's harshest flying conditions. It's no wonder Buffalo Airways was the subject more...
South African Airways Slashes Routes
South African Airways will cut many of its international destinations, and all domestic routes except one, from next month. But the airline's flight from Perth to Johannesburg is safe for now. South African Airways, which has already been facing financial difficulties for years, was more...

Fly to the Maldives from $558 round-trip
There are currently some very good deals available on flights from Australia to the Maldives, a sought-after island holiday destination located to the south of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean. Air Asia and Singapore Airlines both have cheap flights to the Maldives, starting at just $558 return more...
Seat Maps Are NOT a Reliable Load Indicator
Airline passengers often try to predict how full a flight will be for a variety of reasons. For example, it may give an indication of how likely an upgrade is to clear. Or, if you know that your flight will be full (or empty), it may influence your choice of seat selection. But is there a way to accurately more...

My $16 Wizz Air Flight
2.5/5
I recently flew on Wizz Air, a European ultra low-cost carrier, for just $16. That's a ridiculously low price to fly 1,390km from Oslo to Vienna. So, was there a catch?

Featured AFF Member Trip Reports
Bonkers via Honkers - to Austria
Trip report by offshore171 | Many of us would remember the old Cathay Pacific jingle, which used to go "you'd have to be bonkers, not to go via Honkers". I suspect a lot of travellers would feel different at the present time, with the Coronavirus outbreak, but over new year, we did exactly that. The plan for the trip was to get to Lermoos in the Austrian alps, where we had booked a stay in the amazing Hotel Post. read more...
Christmas Island. (AFF community report)
Trip report by Scr77 | Christmas Island is an usual destination that many AFFers have been to. It's the type of destination that would get differing reviews depending on what you would expect from an Australian Island. I have been three times, but invite anyone who has been to contribute. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week, we interviewed AFF member Lemon_Party from Brisbane. Lemon_Party joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2016 and has so far made 554 posts.

Q: Most recent flight?
A: An unexciting SYD-BNE with Qantas in Y.

Q: What's still on your bucket list?
A: Patagonia and Tierro del Fuego. Theroux and Chatwin's books put this onto my bucket list and one day I'll get to South America. This year I'm ticking the USA off the list which I've somehow managed to avoid until now.

Q: What's one thing you would never travel overseas without?
A: I'm a very light traveller - beyond my passport, wallet & phone there's not much else I need. A universal any country to any country power adaptor is probably the first thing in my bag.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Points mean prizes. There are many among us who would never have flown first class without some of the hints and tips from this forum. If you can, pick an airline/alliance that best fits your future travel plans. Search for all the additional points earning opportunities with them to really ramp up your potential rewards. Getting a credit card that gave me more points in one application than 6 months of flying was a game changer for me.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: One of my favourite areas of AFF isn't a thread, it's the AFF Flight Tracker. I love seeing the flight maps of other users and the far away exotic places people have travelled. It definitely gives me more travel aspirations! If you don't use it yet, check it out and remember to set your profile to public! (Click here to view Lemon_Party's flights.)
