Lord Howe Island - October 2020
Trip report by Keith009 | Just came back from a week in Lord Howe Island. Were it not for international / interstate lockdowns, it's probably not a destination I'd have considered in the short term versus overseas or further afield interstate. AFF Member Profile
This week we interviewed AFF member offshore171 from Sydney. offshore171 joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2014 and has so far made 683 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: Last major trip was to to the Tirol region in Austria back in January, which seems an eternity ago now. This had a bit of exploring, some skiing and sightseeing. We travelled via Hong Kong and London and spent a few days in each.

Q: Where will you go when the current travel bans are lifted?
A: Bermuda. It's a beautiful, serene destination in the middle of nowhere. It has a wonderful mix of history, beaches, food and adventure. You can literally snorkel out to historic shipwrecks from the beaches.

Q: Favourite airline?
A: I'll go a little "off-piste" here and say Zeppelin NT. Last year I took a Zeppelin flight with this operator, based at Lake Constance in southern Germany. A fantastic, once in a lifetime aviation experience.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Don't book connecting flights with a layover less than 2 hours. It's just not fun arriving in Dubai bleary eyed at 3am trying to make a 60 minute connection!

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: Top Three Holiday Photos. AFF is full of people who love writing trip reports and sharing excellent photos.
