Featured AFF Member Trip Report
Some WA memories
Trip report by RooFlyer | I've been following along @JohnM's various WAnderings of late and have been WAOndering where he's been? Certainly places that are full of weeds, some in flower so too late for the glysophate. But Western Australia? Nothing looked very familiar to me - I lived in the Murchison region (think inland from Geraldton) for three years, fresh out of Uni, coming up to, well, some decades ago shall we say. Has St Marko produced an actual Eden? read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week we interviewed AFF member BensAdventures from Melbourne. BensAdventures joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2010 and has so far made 412 posts.

Q: Where did you go on your last trip?
A: My last international trip was to the Philippines, which lasted less than 72 hours when I heard Australian border rules were about to change. I appointed two staff and ask one of them to drive me to Manila, which took 5 hours (should have been 90 mins). I landed in Singapore with my phone exploding with messages saying that 'Home Quarantine' was starting at midnight, and I was one of the first flights home the next morning. I never knew it would be 20 months until I flew again! Crazy trip I'll never forget.

Q: Where are you planning to go on your next trip?
A: Later today (1 November) I fly to the USA for work. As soon as the NSW & Victorian quarantine changes were announced, I was booking flights. One of the largest industry events starts 2nd November in Las Vegas, I couldn't miss it again! Qantas upgrade came through, so 787 Business class to LAX should make it more comfortable!

Q: Favourite airline?
A: I love Qantas, but I have a real soft spot for Cathay Pacific too. I love the HKG transfers, the lounges, their premium economy and of course business class. Their A350s are a fantastic plane too.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Find a credit card, or other points earning tool to give you access to rewards with a hotel chain. I choose Marriott and used the AMEX Explorer card to got effect (mostly in the past with SPG), and that got me on the road to Platinum (not Titanium) with Marriott. Love it, the lounges, the late check out and some of the upgrades have been sensational!

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
This one is easy - I love AFF!. This use of AFF changed the way I see cheap premium flying FOREVER! I booked RGN-BKK-LHR-CPH return with BA in First all for sub $800. Took the family on a fantastic journey, had an awful time getting back into Myanmar on the way home, stayed in hands down the WORST hotel of my life, but I'd do it all again tomorrow! AFF was the reason!
