Tasmanian Tigers, or Devils.? A shocking trip into the deadly and unknown...
Trip report by juddles | It is with rather a heavy heart that I write this, as my mind is filled with dread... Some of you would be aware of my eternal battle against Evil - in 2019 exemplified by my close call in outwitting the evil Botanist in his attempt to destroy Chile. This path of righteousness and sacrifice was not something I chose, but am now eternally enmeshed with. I thought I would have some respite after that last narrow victory, but as they say, the plot now thickens... read more...
A PERfect day at Rotto
Trip report by JohnM | Today my younger son, his 3.5yo son and I took the ferry from Fremantle (err, Freo to the uninitiated...) to Rottnest Island (err, Rotto to the uninitiated...) for a boys' day. My older son and his mate brought their newly-acquired centre-console boat over independently. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week, we interviewed AFF member vantage03 who calls both London and Sydney home. vantage03 joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2012 and has so far made 384 posts.

Q: Most recent trip?
A: Flew Sydney to London via Los Angeles (with a 12 hour stopover to break up the trip).
SYD-LAX (in Qantas First), LAX-ZRH (Swiss First) and finally ZRH-LHR (Swiss Business). LX F was excellent, and the ground services at both LAX and ZRH outstanding. I was looking forward to my first flight on a refreshed QF A380, but there was an equipment swap a few days out.

Q: What's still on your bucket list?
A: India is absolutely on my bucket list, something is drawing me there. I'm expecting a sensory-overload (both good and bad) and somewhere totally different to anywhere I've been.

Q: What's one thing you would never travel overseas without?
A: Two things: a UE Boom (portable speaker) for hotel rooms, and a printed copy of my ESTA (as I end up in the US almost every month, sometimes with little notice).

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: I am a huge fan of Expert Flyer, in fact I never book or take a flight without consulting it. I use it to check seat maps, to set up alerts for award seats, to check fare buckets on paid fares, to understand routing and fare rules, and even to compare pricing.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: 2019 - The year in flight - I love each year's version of this thread as it makes me reflect on my own travel. It's great to see what other frequent flyers are doing.
