Get a Cheese Plate in the Qantas Biz Lounge
Fancy a cheese plate in the Qantas Business Lounge? In the domestic Business class lounges, Qantas does not generally put out cheese and crackers with the rest of the lounge buffet food. Qantas 717-200 CNS-BNE in J Class
Trip report by kurtislee09 | This flight was originally booked as Y (flex) then Qantas sent me an invitation to upgrade about 2 weeks prior to the flight for 8000 points, so I decided to go for it because I've always wanted to try their J product on the 717 anyway. One day prior to departure I got a message saying that my upgrade was successful so here it is. Qantas has revamped their 717 fleet for quite a while and the interior is now more sleek and comfortable, both Y and J. read more...
Experiencing Virgin Australia Afresh
Trip report by samh004 | This report is going to be short, it details my first Virgin Australia flight in nearly 5 years and the experience from a Qantas-flyer perspective. With my re-qualification of Qantas Platinum already sorted, and my next booked flights taking me over the line to Qantas Lifetime Gold, I felt I should give Virgin Australia a chance and see what I have been missing. I've tried to be as objective as possible and compare like-for-like. read more...
AFF Member Profile
This week, we interviewed AFF member albyd from Sydney. albyd joined Australian Frequent Flyer in 2011 and has so far made 1,788 posts.

Q: Most recent flight?
A: Flew to BNE for a conference on Qantas.

Q: Favourite destination?
A: That's a hard one. I tend to stick to major cities for holidays. My all time favourite is New York.

Q: What's one thing you would never travel overseas without?
A: My chargers - I have everything that opens and shuts - but it all needs to be powered.

Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a new AFF member?
A: Search the internet for other resources and subscribe to newsletters - can always delete them if they aren't of interest. Good to corroborate what you've learned on AFF from other sources.

Q: Favourite thread on AFF?
A: My favourite forums are the credit card forums as that's where I've garnered much of my points over the years just by spending money I would've spent anyway. I've had some memorable trips away that might not have otherwise made economic sense. My favourite thread is "ATO payments by credit card". I've been able to harness lots of points at a 'reasonable' cost just by making payments I otherwise needed to make to Canberra.
